49-87 is the won/loss total of the 5 years I spent as a member of the then illustrious FLYING DUTCHWOMEN. When posed with the question of would I attend Hofstra University again, I often respond with “I wouldn’t trade my friends for anything in the world”. As you can imagine not a good indication of the overall athletic experience during that time period. And so in tribute to our grand total of 49-87 I thought it best to share some stories of that time frame, that perhaps contributed to some of our wins, some of our losses, some heartbreak, but always apparently a grand time. If you want send me your story as a college athlete, this site is not limited to those of us lucky enough to have been a member of the great FLYING DUTCHWOMEN basketball team of the mid 90s. And so from the pain of loss, after loss, after loss, with a few wins (anyone remember when Erin McDermott caught the ball against Fordham for the win?) comes a lifetime of stories…
